DEMO PLANT ROADMAP

Strategic clarity for your pilot or demonstration plant so you get to first data faster

The Challenge

You’re ready to build a pilot or demonstration plant, but critical questions remain unanswered: What scale? Which unit operations? How long before I see data? What is a realistic budget? Without strategic clarity upfront, pilot projects drift off course, burn through budgets, and fail to deliver the data you actually need.

The Solution

We leverage Lydium’s extensive experience delivering projects at this scale to write a clear and actionable strategic roadmap for your pilot or demonstration plant project. We use facilitated workshops, guided surveys, and targeted technical analysis to help you craft the foundational charter document that will help your team stay focused and moving quickly.

What you get

Establishes why you are building the plant

Identifies the major project stakeholders, what they need, and their definitions of success.

Identifies which process blocks will be piloted, which won’t, and the desired technical outcomes. Also establishes scale and throughput, with technical justification.

Where it will be built and what infrastructure is required.

Approximate capital and operating cost ranges for the total project lifecycle, from design through to operation. Establishes expectations before investing in a detailed CapEx and OpEx estimate.

Decision gates and resourcing requirements.

New to technology scale-up planning?

The Demo Plant Roadmap helps you define strategy before diving into detailed engineering. Many clients begin here, then use other Launch services (BFD, HAZID, OpEx Estimate) to execute their roadmap.

Scope & limitations: All Launch deliverables are conceptual-level engineering suitable for study purposes, strategic planning, and investor communications. Work is not for construction, regulatory submission, or detailed design.

Delivery: Standard delivery is 2 weeks from the project initiation meeting. Project initiation date is subject to availability and will be communicated prior to confirming the engagement. Timeline begins when client provides all required inputs (specified per service) and the initiation meeting is held. One round of revisions included based on clarifications or corrections; scope changes constitute new work. All work is executed and delivered remotely.

Client responsibilities: Client must provide: (1) technical information about their process/technology, (2) available data, flow rates, or ranges, (3) designated point of contact for technical questions, (4) timely feedback on drafts (48-hour response time required to maintain schedule).
